Caring for your Bichon Frise

bichonThe Breed

The name “bichon fries” literally means “curly lap dog!” This small dog is affectionate, loyal and loves to be spoilt. It is quite content to sit on his owners lap and thrives on love and attention.

Exercise

The breed does not need too much exercise and is an ideal dog for an older person. It is content to be a city dweller and lives quite happily in an apartment.

Grooming

The Bichon does need constant grooming, combing through thoroughly every day. It will need to be cut every 6-8 weeks by a competent groomer and should never be clipped. Be prepared to spend more on your dog’s hair than your own. Expect to pay £23-£50 every 6-8 weeks! This breed is NOT low maintenance.

Health

This breed is also prone to serious skin conditions!
